Deputy ID'd In Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting In Maryland

The identity of the deputy sheriff involved in last week's fatal shooting in Gaithersburg has been revealed, authorities say.

As previously reported by Daily Voice, Deputy Sheriff III Domenic Mash was attempting to serve an arrest warrant in the 100 block of Garth Terrace when the shooting occurred Wednesday, July 20, according to the Maryland Office of the Attorney General.

The wanted man was fatally shot in the incident, and one other victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot injuries.

Deputy Mash is a 9.5-year veteran assigned to the US Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.
